Bingo has got to the be the world’s most customizable game, doesn’t it? If you think about it, I will be that you can think of several occasions through your life that you played a bingo variation even if you didn’t go to a bingo hall. There is something about the basic format of the game that lends itself to other uses.
Teachers use bingo to teach everything from math to science facts. It’s easy to create an educational bingo game using words instead of numbers and kids love it. Themed bingo games are played at baby showers, bridal showers and Tupperware parties so it’s obvious that the appeal of bingo isn’t just for kids.
Just doing a quick search, I found several sites that either offer printable themed bingo cards or tell you how to create your own version. I found beach bingo, teach bingo, bunny bingo and even Bible bingo. There is even a baby bingo website where the creator of the Original Baby Bingo baby shower game is still selling her variation.
I doubt that there is any other game that comes close to bingo in the ability to create a customized themed game or that would appeal to everyone from children to adults. That’s part of the charm of bingo that’s helped it retain its popularity for hundreds of years.
